bymacerationandsubsequentdistillationwithsteamfrom
theleavesof Gualtheriaprocumbens L.(Fam.Ericaceae)or
fromthebarkof Betulalenta L.(Fam.Betulaceae).Itboils,
withdecomposition,between219°and224°.Itissolublein
alcoholandinglacialaceticacid,anditisveryslightlysoluble
inwater.
