1.Scope
1.1Thispracticecoversthesamplepreparationprocedures
forpaintsamplesthatarecollectedduringtheassessment,
managementorcontrolofleadhazards.
1.2Thispracticedescribesthedigestionproceduresusinga
hotplateormicrowaveovenorapparatusforpaintsamplesthat
aretobeanalyzedforleadcontent.
1.3Thispracticecoversthegeneralconsiderationsfor
quantitativesampleextractionfortotalrecoverableleadin
driedpaintsamples(eitherbulkpaintorpaintpowder)using
hotplateormicrowaveheatingtechniques,orboth.
1.4ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthe
standard.
1.5Thispracticecontainsnotesthatareexplanatoryandnot
partofthemandatoryrequirementsofthestandard.
1.6ThispracticeisbasedontwoNIOSHMethods,7082
and7105,andonanEPAstandardoperatingprocedureforlead
inpaint.
1.7 Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthe
